Puff Snack Food Production Process

The production process of puff snack food machine includes mixing raw material, extruding raw material and shaping, drying the products, flavoring the products, cooling products.

1. Raw material mixing

The main raw materials for puffed foods are a mixture of cereal powder, starch, sugar, oil, and other ingredients. Among them, cereal powder includes corn flour, wheat flour, rice flour, etc. It is generally made by mixing wheat flour and cereal powder, which can make the expansion degree higher and taste better.

Mix the raw materials, with a high sugar content generally controlled at around 15%. Our mixer can mix the raw material completely and evenly.


2. Extruding and shaping

The extruding process is the most crucial step in making puffed food. We use twin screw extruder for better performance on puffing, On the production line, the mixed raw material will be heated in a pot to a certain temperature (usually between 150 ℃ -200 ℃), and then the material will be extruded to instantly expand, and the mould will shape the material into different size and shape such as spherical, scoop shaped, or rice shaped shapes. 3. Drying the product

The dryer has a mesh belt multi-layer circulating design. There are 3 layers of 5-meter, 5 layers of 5-meter, 5 layers of 8-meter, 7 layers of 8-meter, 7 layers of 10 meter ovens with different production configurations and models. Dryer heating methods include electric, gas, gas, and steam type. The temperature can be adjusted between 20 degree to 260 degrees through a control cabinet. The dryer is equipped with stainless steel mesh belt for smooth transportation, and the mesh belt adopts a double-sided chain with a low failure rate. The feed is dried through multiple layers of circulation to achieve the required moisture content and increase its shelf life.


4. Flavoring the products

After the product is puffed, it needs to be seasoned. The seasoning powder is sprayed on the products by flavoring roller and there has oil sprayer to store oil and convey the oil to the flavoring roller. After flavoring, the products will be tasty into various flavors.


5.Cooling the products

After flavoring, the products is cooled by cooling conveyor into normal temperature for packing.
